Great dinner experience! Staff was very knowledgeable about the dinner and drink menu—made great recommendations for both! Love that the drink menu include non-alcoholic options, as well as natural and sustainable wines (you don’t find that often!). Menu was clearly thoughtfully curated. On top of this, the atmosphere was great on a summer night and the design details are beautiful.
Top notch Italian food. Nice, intimate setting. Attentive and professional service. Super fresh ingredients and hand made pasta as you would expect. The melon and prosciutto salad was a really nice surprise. An amazing culinary mix of ingredients that blew our minds!
the food was delicious! I got the vegan mushroom pasta and was so surprised by how creamy it was. since becoming dairy free, I just avoid Italian restaurants altogether but I decided to give this menu a try and now I can’t stop thinking about it. I also loved that we get a full menu, not just one dish with no love. my friends got dishes from the regular menu and raved about their dishes as well. we did not like the Brussels sprout salad— we felt it was more raw than we’d like, but the flavors were excellent. the service was great, we weren’t able to get a reservation so they had us set up in a waiting area after waiting outside for about 20. weeks did end up waiting an hour and a half in total on a Tuesday evening, but they provided water, drinks, and three different types of focaccia (the garlic and the tomato??? chefs kiss!) with sauce. definitely come on a night when you can get a reservation. our waiter was lovely and helped me choose my pasta, made great recommendations, and was attentive. I had a great experience and will be coming back for my Italian fix every chance I get.
The best pasta place in San diego, hands down, no doubt. We came here multiple times, and we are never disappointed. Their mushroom sauce with gnocchi is very delicious. But honestly their pastas are just all good. Never goes wrong
Cesarina is a beautiful restaurant in San Diego that specializes in homemade pasta and creative Italian dishes. The staff is wonderful and gave us great suggestions on pasta combinations and other sides! Great restaurant to go to with friends or a family gathering. My favorite dish of the night was the Polpo Croccante, the honey glazed crispy octopus was amazing and the romesco sauce was perfect to dip the octopus in. My favorite pasta was the gnocchi which was served in a creamy light truffle sauce. The hand rolled gnocchi was also the perfect consistency. The vodka sauce on the Vodka Scampi is another favorite of ours! Very good trip, will be going again!
